Effective January of next year, Charo Santos-Concio is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ABS-CBN Corporation.
The new position is added to her role as the company’s President and Chief Content Officer.
Gabby Lopez III is still the Chairman of the Board of the ABS-CBN.
Meanwhile, Concio started her career in media as a production assistant in
John en Marsha.’
She then become a drama actress and producer for BanCOm Audiovision, Vanguard Films, Regals Films, and Vision Exponents.
She also tried acting in ‘Brutal,’ ‘Kisapmata and ‘Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak.’
Charo bagged the Best Actress trophy in Mike de Leon’s ‘Itim’ in 1978 Asian Film Festival.
In 1987, she joined ABS-CBN as Consultant and then served as the Director in Programs in 1989, in 1991 as Vice President of Production Operation, in 1996 as Senior Vice President of TV Production, in 1998 as Executive Vice President, in 2006 as Channel Head and in 2008 she was promoted to President.
Charo is also the host of ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya,’ the longest running drama anthology in Asia.
