Chiz Escudero Has Not Closed His Doors to Settling Down With Heart Evangelista

Senator Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero confirmed that he and his girlfriend Heart Evangelista are ‘headed towards marriage.’

In an interview with Lynda Jumilla on ANC’s ‘Beyond Politics,’ Escudero said he has no angst against marriage despite his failed relationship with his former wife Christine Elizabeth Flores, with whom he has twins.

Escudero’s 10-year marriage to Flores was annulled in June last year.

Wala siyang masamang tingin sa pagpapakasal and he would want to settle again, have a complete family, and hopefully this time, kumpleto na talaga siya until death do us part, he said.

Heart and Chiz have been talking about it and they don’t know when it will come, but they are headed in that direction.

But he clarified that their decision to tie the knot will not be linked to the presidential elections in 2016.

Yung pasya nila kaugnay ng pagpapakasal, walang kinalaman sa kung kailan ang eleksyon, he said, explaining that he has no plans yet for the 2016 polls.

They are not planning for it and are not preparing for it. He is simply doing his job in the Senate, Escudero said.

Meanwhile, when asked about the possibility of reconciling with Evangelista’s parents, who earlier expressed disapproval of their relationship, the senator said the ball is in their (parents) court.

The couple have done their part.

They have not done anything wrong and have not done anything wrong to them either, he said. Nananahimik lang sila ni Heart.

Escudero added: Kung may problema man ako sa anak ko, kakausapin ko yung anak ko, i-lolock ko pa yung kwarto. Hindi ako magpapatawag ng press con.

Nonetheless, he said he is still hoping that all will be well between him and Evangelista’s parents in time.

Pero siguro, sila muna ang dapat mauna… Malay mo, sa Pasko o Bagong Taon, he said.

Escudero, meanwhile, said he is enjoying being a single dad to his kids and is making the most out of it while his children are still young.

His children are now six years old.

He tries my best to be home before they sleep so he could put them to sleep at least three times a week, he said.

The senators also shared how he explained to his kids his annulment to their mother.

Huwag kang magtago, magpanggap, pahirapan, mag-imbento, magsinungaling. And you will be surprised, they will understand, Escudero said.
