Kris Aquino is only expecting the number two slot, for her entry, ‘Segunda Mano’, in this year’s Metro Manila Filmfest box-office race.
Aquino wants Ai Ai delas Alas and Vic Sotto (Enteng Ng Ina Mo), for the number one slot. This was during the press conference for the horror movie at ABS-CBN last Dec. 12.
Kris is willing to settle for the second spot because she does not want to create any ‘controversy’ in the Metro Manila Film Festival, although she’s proud of their performance in ‘Segunda Mano.’
Kris is not also thinking of fulfilling her wish of finding someone new this year. She does not feel it coming. That’s why she’s able to do her job well. She feels there are no restrictions and inhibitions when one is single.
Kris is producing the movie, saying she’s making the hay while the sun still shines. She’s just realistic because artists have shelf life, so she’s just making the most of it now.
She also thinks that there’s a strong possibility that she will grow old with her sons, Joshua and James Jr. or Bimby. When she asked her son, Bimby ‘Are you gonna get married?’ The answer was ‘No, Mama `cause you’re gonna die if I get married.’
But although her ‘Segunda Mano’ co-star and co-producer Dingdong Dantes will give her a date for Christmas, Kris knows she cannot tell if she’ll fall in love again.
Kris just wants more time for her sons for the coming years, since she has been busy for the past few months.
She will be taking Josh and Bimby to New York after Christmas, where they can bond in peace.
Kris wishes freedom for estranged husband James Yap, this Christmas as much as she wants freedom for herself.
She will promote ‘Segunda Mano’ in GMA shows the way Dingdong, a Kapuso talent, will guest in ABS-CBN shows like her own ‘Kris TV’ to push the horror film.
‘Segunda Mano,’ is under Star Cinema and MJM Productions, also stars Helen Gamboa and Angelica Panganiban and is directed by Joyce Bernal and opens Dec. 25 in theaters nationwide.
