Nora Aunor bagged the Best Actress trophy in Metro Manila Film Festival awards night.
Brilliante Mendoza emerged as the winner in the Best Director category.
The film took home the Best Production Design, Best Original Story, Best Cinematography, Most Gender Sensitive Award and the Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award.
Meanwhile, Mendoza hopes that ‘Thy Womb’ win will draw curios moviegoers and Filipino audience.
The movie is top billed by Superstar Nora Aunor with Mercedes Cabral, Lovi Poe and Bembol Roco, the movie received six trophies during the Awards Night last Thursday.
The director also spoke on reports that his movie was pulled out from several cinemas because of its low box-office turnout.
He is also thankful to the MMFF committee for allowing ‘Thy Womb’ to join the competition and making the movie accessible to the viewing public.
Mendoza congratulates Aunor for winning the Best Actress award.
Nora deserves such recognition, he added.
