Nora Aunor’s movie, ‘Thy Womb’ has reportedly been receiving positive reviews from international film critics.
It is a Brillante Mendoza’s film and it stars Nora.
It received a standing ovation when it had its first official screening and gala premiere at the 69th Venice International Film Festival on September 6.
Larry Castillo, the film’s line producer said that there was a five-minute standing ovation, until the entire Philippine delegates left the cinema.
The said movie was Aunor’s comeback film and it is part of the ‘Venezia 69,’competition in which she plays an infertile Badjao midwife.
It will also compete for the prestigious Golden Lion award along with 17 others from across Asia, Europe and the US.
Mendoza, Aunor, Lovi Poe, Mercedes Cabral, and other members of the delegation left Manila for Venice to attend the festival.
Nora is among the contenders for the Best Actress award on the said competition.
