Miss Angola’s Leila Lopes was crowned Miss Universe for 2011 in the competition held in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Tuesday.
Miss Ukraine Olesya Stefanko was the first runner-up, Brazil’s Priscila Machado placed 2nd runner-up, Shamcey Supsup placed third and China’s Luo Zilin was 4th runner-up.
Lea Salonga asked Lopes the final question that helped her to win the pageant.
Salonga asked Lopes that if she could change one of her personal characteristics, which one would it be and why?
Lopes replied that she thanks God that she’s very well satisfied with the way God created her and she should not change a thing.
On the other hand, Supsup was one of the strongest contestants in the competition, placing first in the final fan rankings.
In the question and answer portion, she said she would not change her religion just to marry the person she loves. The man that loves her should also love her God.
Supsup graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Philippines with a degree in architecture and topped the June 2010 Architecture Licensure Examination.
