Former ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ housemates Jason Francisco and Melai Cantiveros finally tied the knot in a Church wedding in Melai’s hometown of General Santos City.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Holy Cross Parish in the said province. Members of the couple’s families, as well as showbiz friends, attended the said wedding.
Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and his mother Dionisia were among the sponsors of the wedding.
Jinkee, Manny’s wife, was also listed as one of the sponsors but it is not clear if she made it to the wedding.
Other big celebrity names listed as sponsors were Kris Aquino, Boy Abunda, Deo Endrinal, Mariole Alberto, Ben Chan, Vicki Belo and Joel Cruz.
‘Pinoy Big Brother’ housemate Paul Jake Castillo stood as best man in the wedding, as well as another PBB alumni Ryan Bang.
Melason’s fan club leaders Audrey Meghan Gendrala and Grace Sapinoso were the maids of honors.
The couple wore a gown and suit by celebrity designer Nat Manilag.
The reception was at the Pandan Grand Ballroom of the Green Leaf Hotel in San Miguel Street in General Santos City.
The viewers of PBB were witnesses to how the couple started their relationship.
Jason unexpectedly fell in love with Melai during the airing of the show.
They became an official couple but eventually broke up because of a rumored third party.
Jason apparently is jealous and insecure while Melai is very strict of her boyfriend.
After breaking up for a year, the couple decided to give it another try. Melai announced her pregnancy in October of this year.
The couple announced a December date for their wedding, although this was plagued by a controversy because they did not invite Melai’s close showbiz friend, Angelica Panganiban.
This transpired after Angelica voiced out her concerns over Melai’s pregnancy, which Jason saw as questioning his capabilities to support his would-be family.
Melai admitted getting hurt by Angelica’s accusations, but the actress maintained she will always love Melai as a friend.
