What’s Holding Katrina Halili From Marrying Kris Lawrence?

Katrina Halili is still reluctant to marry her long time boyfriend, Kris Laurence.

People are asking what’s holding Halili from marrying Lawrence?

He is the father of her child, Katie and it has been 2 years after their first baby, Katrence was born.

Lawrence’s love for Halili is stronger than ever.

Kris on marrying Katrina Halili: he is willing to wait as long as the love does not die.

Kakaiba ang kanilang set-up.

Mas in love si Kris sa baby niya, who cannot wait to rush home to bond with his daughter.

Surprisingly, they are not living under one roof – yet.

But the set-up works.

Katrina’s place, says Kris, is a mere jogging distance away from his home.

They seldom fight, reveals Kris.

Kapag may tampo, aalis si Kris ng 10 minutes at magpapalamig.

Then he will do something stupid and make her laugh.

He is the first to make amends kahit mali siya.

Kris has buried his ego deep, deep down where he cannot unearth it.

The reason is simple, he wants to be happy.

One thing that sticks to his head is what someone told him– the secret to a happy life is a happy wife.

The magic words are ‘Yes, dear.’ Feel niya na happy naman si Katrina.

So what is keeping him from popping the question.

It urns out Kris is waiting for a few things.

One is divine guidance on the proper timing for the proposal.

Another is for Katrence – or Katy – as he and Katrina call her – to be able to walk straight so she can be the flower girl in their wedding.

Kris wants Zoren Legaspi – who surprised wife Carmina Villarroel – when he married her, to be his mentor in this department.

Marriage will come soon and it will be a surprise for Katrina, said Kris.

Meanwhile, Kris relates how Katrina watches his GMA show ‘Sunday All Stars’ and sends him feedback about his number through SMS.

Her comments, Kris relates, are balanced.

One time, she’d praise him.

At another time, Katrina goes, “’akit ganon?’

Kris appreciates how she takes the time to listen to his song, even if she is in the middle of a conversation with a friend.

Pag may kausap siya, she will ask the person to wait and she will listen to his song

His newest album, ‘Spread the Love’ (GMA Records) has Katrina’s influence all over it.

He wrote four of the 12 songs – ‘Sabihin Mo Naman,’ ‘Di Na Matatanggap,’ ‘Addict’ and ‘Try Again’ for her.

The mid-tempo single ‘Sabihin Mo Naman’ is a plea for love.

The sad lyrics of ‘Di na Matatanggap”’show Kris’ feelings after Katrina broke up with him in 2010.

She asked for space, Kris recalled.

Thankfully, Katrina changed her mind after some five months.

The doting dad dedicates ‘Make Me Whole’ for Katrence, whose first smile during the first week of her life sent her parents to seventh heaven.

Kris’ favorite though, is ‘Try Again.’

He was super inspired that he wrote it in 20 minutes.

His pen would not stop and he went to the piano and started playing.

He was crying while he was writing cause because a lot of things came to his mind, especially when he was younger.

It is ‘Sabihin Mo Naman’ which is getting more airplay these days because GMA chose it as the theme of Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez’s pained characters in the gay-themed daily teleserye ‘My Husband’s Lover.’

The network’s move surprised and pleased Kris.

He recalls confirming the good news through a friend who posted it in his Twitter account.

Kris keeps his fingers crossed that with Katrina and Katrence rooting for him, Kris is ready to soar even more.
